Beach Sprite

It's Ben piloting the keyboard here. We took Sprite to the Lake Worth Beach yesterday. This was her 1st time at the beach, and she seemed a little confused. She was indifferent to the sand, but loved the water and stared at the waves when I walked her down to the shore.

I'm hoping that as Sprite ages she'll appreciate the other things that the beach is good for, like people watching and fishing (yes, on the beach from the surf). In fact the water was flat and there was a lot of bait jumping right at the break less than 30 feet from shore.

This is actually a nice spot for fishing, and at least one IGFA record for Pompano was set off of the Lake Worth Pier, which you can see behind me in one of the pics. The pier has been closed for years due to damage from the hurricanes in 2004 and 2005, but has been under construction and is going to reopen soon. That should be great because Nat loves to go to the beach and soak the sun, but me not so much. I love the water and fishing though, so with the pier open we can take a lot more family trips and Nat can sit out and read and I can fish. And Sprite can either make sand castles, swim in the surf, or fish with dad. It'll be great!

Anyway, we had a great time, Sprite got her 1st sea shell, and we then went to downtown Lake Worth to get ice cream at Kilwin's. Life is good.
