A few weeks ago I took Sprite for her first visit to the library. We went to the new West Palm Beach Library. It is really nice. Their children's section is on its own floor so kids can be as loud as they want. They also had lots of great play areas. Sprite is still a bit too young for their baby story time so we browsed the stacks for a while. They have a great selection of cd's and dvd's so we checked out Elizabeth Mitchell, Dan Zanes, and Raffi. I have been doing a bit of research into children's music and had read great things about Elizabeth Mitchell and Dan Zanes. Let me explain the Raffi cd - not usually my thing, but when we were little Chrissy was obsessed with the Baby Beluga song. For some reason no one else remembers it but the two of us, so when I saw it I knew i had to get it. As far as kids music goes, I just bought the new Ziggy Marley cd, Family Time, and I love it.
I am sure you are wondering if Sprite got her library card. The answer is no, not yet. The children's librarian tried to talk me into it, but call me crazy, I want to wait until Sprite will actually remember it. I think getting your very own library card is a big deal. You'd think a librarian would understand this.
We have already been back again and checked out a few more cd's. I'll let you know if they are any good.
