New camera

I have been a little unsure about what to do with this blog lately. I was starting to feel uncomfortable with how much information is available out there on the internet. I know making the blog private won't really help with that, but it felt like something I had to do. I still want to share photos of Sprite and stories about her and hopefully, eventually some of the projects and art that I do. So for now I am making this an invite only site. If you know someone who wants to read it please let me know and I will add them to the list.

So in the many months since I last posted there has been a lot going on. We recently got a new camera (thanks sweetie!) and I am still learning how to use it. It is a Canon G11 and it is pretty amazing. Here are a few photos from our recent vacation to the Keys.

The camera has a sunset setting. It seems like cheating because it takes an okay sunset and makes it look amazing. This seems cool for photos with people in it, but if you are just taking a photo of a sunset it seems wrong.

It also has a screen that can flip out so you can see it from in front of the camera. This is great for my obsession with taking self portraits. It certainly helps to keep me from cutting off people heads. And as a bonus it is a great distraction for Sprite. Of course, she is looking at the screen and not the actual camera, but it is still cute. I also discovered today that it is a great way to get her too look at the camera and smile. I'll post some of those photos soon.

And this was just to cute to skip. I know it is gross, but darn it she is having so much fun.

Enjoy.
