Silly mornings

Mornings can be crazy and hectic around our house. I have always tried to get up about a half hour before everyone else. I need a few minutes of quiet before I start my day. And now that we have two little ones it is even more important.

Claire snuggled in bed with Ben and watches cartoons and Hazel is either still sleeping or I put her by me in her boucer. Eventually I expect that she will join the cartoon watching crowd when she can fend for herself.

I feed Hazel first and it is our little window of alone time before we go our separate ways. Then it is back to the bouncer or activity mat for her. I usually move her seat around so she can feel lime she is part of the action.

I get Claires breakfast and try and sit down with her for a few minutes. It is a good way to make sure I eat too and we get a little time with her. I also do her hair while she eats since it is the only time she stops moving. After that Ben is in charge of getting her ready. He handles the whining around using the potty and picking shoes better than I do.

I finish getting ready and leave getting dressed for last in case someone throws up on me. Then we load up the car and are off.

I usually try and take a few photos in te morning too, just so I can look at their sweet faces during the day. And that is pretty much our schedule on work/school days. Everything is prepped at night, lunches, bags, outfits etc. So we have time to snuggle and watch cartoons or have a cup of coffee and watch the birds.
